Sydney, Australia

Where in the world am I?

Hmmm, can’t guess?

 Sydney!

(You were right, congratulations! Ten World Traveller points!)

This is probably one of the most iconic images of Sydney that can be seen anywhere. Looking across Sydney Harbour at the Opera House with one of the traditional green Harbour ferries making its way to Circular Quay.

Ah Sydney Harbour on a summer’s day, how do I love thee, let me count the ways. Sigh….

Next iconic picture, the Manly ferry coming into Circular Quay with Sydney Harbour Bridge in background. Taking the ferries across Sydney Harbour is one of the most enjoyable things to do as a tourist in Sydney.

Sydney Harbour Bridge from The Rocks. When it comes to fulfilling ‘Bucket Lists’ or “100 things to do before you die” lists , doing the Harbour Bridge climb is pretty much on all those lists. An experience that I would highly recommend, even for those people who aren’t too fond of heights. The trick is to look across the harbour rather than down through the bridge. The views are spectacular.

Trivia time!
The pylons either side of the bridge are just there for decoration, look carefully the metal structure of the bridge doesn’t actually join the pylons. They were build for aesthetic reasons but also too at the time, to put people’s minds at rest over the structural integrity of the bridge!
